What is View Quality?

View quality describes how meaningful a view is — how long it lasted, whether the viewer engaged, and whether they were a plausible audience — as opposed to the raw count of views.

Two clips with identical view counts can be worth very different amounts. One held attention to the end and prompted shares; the other was scrolled past after half a second and counted anyway.

Because platforms define a view generously, raw counts flatter content that is skipped. Watch-through rate, replays, and shares describe what actually happened.

For anyone assessing an organic program, watch-through and shares are more informative than the headline number, and harder to inflate artificially.
